What families say about working with Andre Hurtado
Real outcomes from parents and students—stronger grades, clearer explanations before exams, and the sense that Andre Hurtado is organized, patient, and invested in their success.
“Our daughter was struggling with honors chemistry before midterms. After a few sessions with Andre, her problem sets stopped taking all night—and she earned a B+ when she was at risk of not passing. Patient, organized, and things finally clicked.”
Rachel M.
Parent of a high school junior
“I was dreading organic fundamentals, but we built a rhythm: review, examples, then practice. My exam score jumped two letter grades. Best tutoring experience I’ve had in college.”
James T.
University student
“Genetics and molecular bio felt like a wall of vocabulary. Andre broke units into steps I could reproduce on the test. My professor even commented that my short answers were clearer.”
Priya S.
College sophomore
“We needed someone who could support AP Biology and speak confidently about lab reasoning. Communication was easy, scheduling was flexible, and our son’s confidence before the exam was night and day.”
Daniel L.
Parent of an AP student
“Python was required for my science major and I had never coded. I went from syntax panic to finishing assignments with debugging skills that transferred to other classes.”
Elena V.
University junior
“Clear, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable—Andre helped with high school chem and the data basics my daughter needed for intro programming. Highly recommend.”
Michelle K.
Parent of two students
“Thermodynamics and equilibrium used to melt my brain. He connected the math to what was happening in the diagrams. I passed the class and actually understood the final.”
Chris W.
University student
“Sessions are structured but not rigid. We could pivot when my lab report due date moved, then get back to lecture topics. Professional and warm—exactly what we wanted for our college freshman.”
The Patel family
Parents
“My coding assignments were taking hours because I couldn’t debug efficiently. Now I have a repeatable process—I spend time on logic, not spiraling.”
Noah R.
High school senior, dual-enrollment
“We appreciated the honesty: the focus was on what the teacher was testing, not generic worksheets. Grades improved, and our son stopped avoiding the subject.”
Andrea P.
Parent
“Physiology and systems integration finally made sense when we drew pathways together and tied them to exam prompts. Worth every session.”
Morgan F.
University student
“Great balance of rigor and encouragement. Andre explains science like someone who respects your time—and knows how college courses are graded.”
Samira H.
College junior

Trust & approach
Why parents choose Andre Hurtado
You’re hiring an individual expert—not a call center. Andre Hurtado offers structured, one-on-one teaching for students who need calm, dependable support in demanding courses.
Deep subject understanding
My neuroscience degree, graduate bioinformatics training, and daily work with Python and scientific reasoning mean I teach the “why,” not just the steps—so students retain more for exams.
Personalized, one-on-one support
You work directly with me. Sessions start from your student’s syllabus, recent work, and goals. Pacing and examples adapt as their confidence grows.
Clear explanations of hard concepts
Complex topics are broken into steps students can repeat: plain language first, visuals when they help, and the level of detail their instructor expects.
Real scientific and technical experience
I’ve worked in research-oriented and technical environments. That background shows up as structured thinking, careful problem-solving, and honest guidance about what will move the grade.
Structured lessons every time
Each meeting has a purpose: review, guided practice, feedback, and a short plan for what to do before the next session—no wandering sessions.
Outcomes parents care about
The focus is stronger grades, calmer exam preparation, and understanding that lasts into the next unit, lab, or coding assignment.

About me
A background built for clear, rigorous teaching
Hi, I’m Andre. I’m a private tutor—parents and students work with me directly, not a rotating staff. My job is to make difficult coursework feel organized, understandable, and achievable.
I hold a Bachelor’s in Neuroscience from Brigham Young University and a Master’s in Bioinformatics from the University of Valencia. That combination gives me a strong footing in biology, quantitative reasoning, and the kind of chemistry-style logic that shows up again and again in science courses—from stoichiometry and equilibrium to how instructors ask exam questions.
I’m also deeply comfortable with Python and scientific computing. I help students whether they are writing their first loops or applying code to coursework and data-heavy assignments, always emphasizing clear structure and debugging habits they can reuse.
Outside of tutoring, I’ve worked in scientific and technical settings where accuracy and communication matter. I bring that same discipline to sessions: we check understanding as we go, connect ideas to what teachers actually grade, and build confidence alongside skill.
Parents: a quick win is to share the syllabus and one recent assignment—those two things help me plan the first session around what actually counts for the grade.
